Forge your path as:
Penciller
Inker
Colorist
Storyboard artist
Comic book art is first stated by the Penciller. The penciller does not usually create the finished art. The extent to which the pencilled pages resemble the final, inked version varies depending on the artist.
01
The inker takes an artist's pencils and goes over them in ink, turning the image into a finished piece of work. The dark ink lines makes the art jump off the page and adds depth and dimension.
The colorist helps the comic book to become a finished piece of art, and is an artist in their own right, needing very different kinds of skills than what the penciller and inker need.
